And Mr. Folarin drops yet another ‘freestyle’ over an industry beat. This latest over Jay-Hova’s Thank You sounds like it would’ve fit right in place on one of his Studio 43 mixtapes. The braggadocio, the flow, the weird-ass inflections (I am really high/really really high/to get inside my mind/it’d be really ill-advised.) Bonus points for some exceptionally recent references (i.e. cudi & wallets, Chris Henry, the freak snow storm in the DMV). I might be reading in to this a bit too much, but it seems like Wale might be trying to put the defibrillator to his buzz from the bottom up, and this might work.
